Changing The Canvas Size![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
The image area in Photoshop file is called the Canvas area. Whenever you create New Canvas area, it will be created in the background color. So you should specify the background color before hand. If you wish to increase the amount of canvas area without affecting the resolution of the image, choose Canvas Size from the Image menu. The Canvas Size dialog box, where you can input the desired canvas size for your canvas and click inside the grid to position the existing image. If you decrease the new canvas size below the current canvas size then a dialog box will appear saying that it will clip the image if you proceed.
