Creating New Layers![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
For creating a new layer, choose New Layer from the palette menu. Choose New from the Layer menu and then select Layer. You can duplicate an existing layer by making the desired layer active and choosing Duplicate Layer from the palette menu.
You may wish to cut or copy a selected portion of a layer and paste it into a new layer. For making a selection, use a Lasso or Marquee tool. After selection create a new layer. Choose Layer Via Cut to cut and choose Layer Via Copy to copy the selected portion. When you paste it onto a new layer then it gets pasted on exactly the same place where it was.
