Creating Text Layers![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
In Photoshop as you create text, a new layer gets added to the Layers palette above the active layer. Using this text layer, you can type and edit a desired text of yours as many times you wish till you render the image as a bitmap. Select the Type tool from the toolbox for creating a text.
When you click somewhere in the image window after selecting Type tool as shown in Fig 4.2 the Type tool dialog box appears. Notice that the Move tool also gets selected. Check the Preview check box to view the text on the image, as it will be visible in the dialog box. Using the Move tool you can move the text as you wish. When you click OK in the Type Tool dialog box, a new layer gets inserted in the Layers palette. If you wish to edit the text then double click on the Text layer in the Layers palette to redisplay the Type Tool dialog box. Example Of Text Layers:
1. Open an image on which you want to write your desired text.
After typing the text and editing, choose Type from the Layer menu and then select Render Text to convert the text into a pixel bitmap. After this your text will be an image and hence cannot be edited by using Type tool dialog box. When you flatten the image, then also the text on the text layer gets converted into pixel bitmap and all the layers are merged to get a Background layer.
