The Default Action Set![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
For using the Default Action set, first of all click the triangle to the left of the Default Actions set in the Action palette. After clicking the triangle you will be seeing the contents of the Default Action set. If you click on the triangles attached with individual action for example "Large Square Button", the contents of that action will be displayed. Now you click on the Play button of the Action palette or ' choose Play from the palette menu. In the image window you will be viewing the result of playing each action along with the progress of the action in the Action palette. To stop the action at any point of time click Stop button in the Action palette or choose Stop from the palette menu. If you choose Button Mode from the Actions palette menu then the actions will be shown as buttons as shown in Fig 4.40. On clicking the button the actions starts playing. Note that when the actions are in button mode then you cannot view their contents. If you want to return back to the Script mode of the Action palette then click on the Button.
Mode again. In Button mode you cannot record actions. 1. The Action sets are represented as Folder in the Action palette. Click on the triangle adjacent to the Folder named Default Action to display its content. 2. Click on this triangle to display the details of that action as you can see of "Large Rectangular Button". 3. Check this box to enable this action in button mode. If this box is left unchecked then this action will be displayed in button mode but will be deactivated. 4. Click on this space to turn on dialog boxes for the steps in the action that contain dialog box. If the icon is red, it means only some of the steps in the action dialog boxes turned on. When the icon is black, all the steps that have dialog box stop and wait for input when the action is playing. 5. Stop playing/Recording action. 6. The record button is black until you start recording. The button becomes red while recording.. 7. Play button 8. Folder icon to create and name a new set. 9. Click on the Page icon to create a new action. 10. Trash icon to delete the actions. After selecting an action, which you want to delete, click on the Trash icon or drag it to the Trash icon. Understanding The Default Actions All the actions- in the Default Actions require the existence of an open file. In some cases, you must have some conditions set up before playing the action, like creating text or making a selection. We will talk about these actions in details. 1. If you play the Large Rectangular Button action, a 0.5-inch x 0.75-inch embossed box will be created in the foreground color and positioned in the upper left comer of the image. Using the Move tool, you can move this button to suitable position as shown in Fig. 2.If you play the Large Square Button action, a 0.5-inch x 0.5-inch embossed box will be created in the foreground color and positioned in the upper left corner of the image. Using the Move tool, you can move this button to suitable position as shown in Fig.
3. If you play the Large Round Button action, a 0.5-inch radius embossed circle will be created in the foreground color and positioned in the upper left comer of the image. Using the Move tool, you can move this button to suitable position.
