The keyPress, keyDown, and keyUp Events
These three events all relate to keyboard actions from the user. A keyPress is created by the combination of a keyDown and a keyUp event. The keyPresss event always begins with key pressed down, which enables you to initiate an event handler when the user holds a key down or just presses it momentarily.
All three events include two important properties. The first, the which property, identifies the specific key that the user pressed, using its ASCII code. The second, the modifiers property, returns a number indicating the status of any other special keys held down while the key was pressed. The possible values of the modifiers property for combinations of special keys Modifiers value and Additional Key(s) 0 - None 1 - Alt 2 - Ctrl 3 - Alt + Ctrl 4 - Shift 5 - Alt + Shift 6 - Ctrl + Shift 7 - Alt + Ctrl + Shift
