Palettes
Other than the Toolbox, Photoshop has eleven floating palettes arranged in four groups. These palettes are required for working with layers, channels, paths, and actions. There are palettes, which helps in manipulating color and brush shape also. We will discuss the palettes as we proceed in this and the coming chapters wherever required.
The palettes are in general grouped together. You can separate them out by dragging the tabs that contain the palette name. You can also select a palette from the Window menu by clicking on the appropriate Show option. Choose the appropriate Hide option from the Window menu to close a palette. Note that in the Window menu the palettes in a group are one below each other and the groups are separated by a horizontal line to specify the group. There are four groups in which eleven palettes are distributed.
