You can transform the selected objects, the contents of individual layers, the contents of linked layers and even the entire image when multiple layers are not present by using Photoshop's transformation command. Choose Transform from the Edit menu to select the available transformation options.

Scale Transformation

Whenever you choose Scale Transformation, a rectangle appears around the content of the active layer. You can see points at the comer of the rectangle and at the midpoint of each side. Click and drag these points to resize the image. While dragging you may have the quality of the image degraded, mostly at the time of enlarging. Double click inside the rectangle and press the Enter key to accept the modifications you have made. If you don't want to accept the changes press Escape key.

Rotate Transformation

Rotate command rotates the content of a layer around the central axis. When you choose this option a rectangular box appears enveloping the contents of the active layer. Rotate the rectangle by clicking a rotating the corner points of the rectangle. You can change the center axis by dragging the position of the cross hair, which is at the center of the image. When you drag it back, close to the true center, the cross hair snaps to the center again.

Skew Transformation

Skew command skews the contents of the layer. This transformation is used to create the illusion of depth., Click and drag the corners to adjust the two sides connected to that corner. If you click on the points between the corner points, the three sides of the image get adjusted.
